The new CMV Truck Sales facility is located on a prime piece of real estate in Adelaide’s industrial north. The land and location were a perfect fit for the sprawling footprint which is now home to CMV Group’s Truck Parts, Sales & Service Division.

The design brief called for a modern service facility which could operate 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week providing a wide range of services for trucks and buses of all sizes. The main reception area has been designed as a showcase for the business where an Alucobond façade frames the curved entrance and air-lock. Through the main doors you are greeted by a luxurious jarrah floor which helps guides clients along to the reception desk.

The six-metre high ceiling and frameless glass windows are incorporated to display full-size truck cabins. The cabins are housed on polished concrete floor spaces, either side of the main reception area and create quite an imposing and attention-grabbing main feature. Behind the reception area is the sales, warehousing, driver’s quarters and new truck sales division, which all-up comprises 5500m2 over two levels.

Further back on the site, the 3700m2 workshop was designed to cater for CMV’s state-of-the-art service equipment including in-floor oil, coolant and air lines, truck wash bays, brake testers, training facilities and an enormous 485m3 truck service pit.

The entire building has been designed with energy conservation in mind. With the use of Clipsal’s C-Bus Electronic Lighting Control, power wastage will be kept to a minimum.

Internal air comfort has been achieved with the use of conventional reverse cycle and evaporative air-conditioning while the workshop and parts warehouse areas are heated by three huge oil heaters utilising waste oil from the central truck maintenance pit. Our client has been provided with an extremely cost-effective facility that is arguably one of the best of its type in Australia. An impressive street presence has been achieved and has already aided in the growth of this particular CMV Group division.
